Shopping centres in Mallorca
The island's capital, Palma de Mallorca, is a veritable shopping paradise. The city has two covered mega-malls and a huge outlet centre on the outskirts of the city that are very tempting for a shopping spree.
Porto Pi - shopping mall on the waterfront
Porto Pi is the oldest and largest shopping mall in Mallorca. The shopping centre opened its doors to visitors in 1995 and has since been modernised several times. The place has 140 shops in a space of 112,000 m². Well-known fashion labels such as Jack & Jones, Gerry Weber, Lacoste and Calvin Klein have outlets here. In addition, Spanish fashion brands such as Zara and Springfield also have opened units here.
Typical Spanish restaurants, Tapas in Mallorca and fast-food chains such as Pizza Hut and McDonald's ensure that you will not go hungry. The French supermarket chain Carrefour also operates a branch in the Porto Pi shopping centre, as does the German drugstore chain Müller and the Mallorcan jewellery manufacturer Majorica. The shopping centre includes a parking garage with 1,575 parking spaces. Parking is free for the first two hours.
FAN Mallorca Shopping - the newest shopping centre in Palma
In the autumn of 2016 FAN Mallorca Shopping opened its doors to visitors. The main investor was once again the French Carrefour Group. Around 115 shops offer their goods in a retail area of 66,000 m². In addition to well-known fashion outlets such as C&A, Mango, H&M and Decathlon, the fashion discounter Primark operates a flagship store in FAN. Local companies with units in there are Pieles de Mallorca and Naturalmente Mallorca.
The shopping Mecca has a more to offer than just shops. There is a 4D cinema and the leisure arena Dock 39 complete with wave pool, climbing walls and a children's playground. Throughout the shopping centre, visitors have free access to Wi-Fi network. The planners of the shopping mall have put an interesting slant on their marketing and use special fragrances and pieces of music to encourage customers to make purchases and help boost sales.
Outlet centre Festival Park just outside Palma
About seven kilometres from Palma de Mallorca, on the highway connecting the capital of the island with the "leather city" Inca, is the Factory Outlet Festival Park. The mega-outlet opened in 2002 and offers a classy Mallorca Shopping of some 50 shops and restaurants under one roof and spread out over 35,000 m². Well-known brands such as Diesel, Mango, Desigual, Nike and Timezone operate here and many big brands are available at reduced prices.
The fashion brands are supplemented by accessories such as Ray-Ban sunglasses, Textura lifestyle items and Camper's Mallorcan shoes. The complex also has a multiplex cinema, go-karting track and bowling centre. Thanks to the convenient location on the Inca-Palma de Mallorca Motorway in Mallorca, you can quickly reach the outlet centre by rental car.
