Many hikers choose the Monastery Lluc in the north of Mallorca, in the heart of the Tramuntana, as a starting point. The monastery has a number of guest rooms and there are trails leading into the dramatic gorge Torret de Pareis and the second highest mountain on the island. The whole beauty of the impressive mountain region opens up to you as part of a multi-day hike on the so-called "Dry Stone Route", which connects the mountain village of Valldemossa with Pollença in the north of Mallorca. On this trail you pass shady holm oak forests, deep canyons and summits that rise more than 1,300 metres high.

Nature lovers should not miss a hike in one of Mallorca's Nature Parks. On a hike to the abbey you pass a medieval hermitage and another monastery, which is still inhabited by monks today. At Felantix on the Southeast coast Mallorca, the monastery of Santuari de Sant Salvador - historic monastary on Mallorca is a popular hiking destination. The complex is located on a 500 m high mountain in the Serres de Llevant and the path leads through a pine forest to the summit. On the neighbouring ridge you see the ruins of Castell de Santueri medieval castle on Mallorca, a castle perched on top of a 408 m high table mountain. After the exhausting climb, you will be rewarded with a fantastic view over half the island.
