The Storm Has Passed: Mallorca Basks in Sunny Weather Once Again
The Day After the Storm
The weather map is showing the storm's path eastwards, leaving Mallorca behind as of Monday night (6.11.). The forecast for the beautiful island in the coming days is filled with sunshine. It’s only towards the end of the week when rain clouds are expected to loom.
Monday – a Day of Transition
Monday presents a blend of sun and clouds. Despite it being fairly cloudy in the northern parts of the island, particularly around Alcúdia, it will stay dry. The Spanish weather service Aemet announces a probability of precipitation standing at zero percent.
The wind that swept across the island hitting speeds of up to 110 km/h is now mildly to moderately blowing from the southwest. Temperatures are set to rise on the early afternoon to a peak of 21-22 degrees.
Is It Still Time for a Dip in the Sea?
With water temperatures at 20 degrees on Playa de Palma, there's a fairly good chance of taking a dip in the sea again. It’s important though to exercise caution and vigilance since waves and currents have not yet completely settled after the storm. Keep in mind that the official bathing season is over and there are no longer any lifeguards stationed on the beaches.
Sunset and Rising Sun
At 17:44, the sun sets paving the way for a crisp night with lows ranging between 7 (Inca) and 12 degrees (Alcúdia). The sun will rise again on Tuesday at 7:22. Temperatures will then continue to hover around the 20-degree mark. The sun is expected to shine almost continuously, with the wind this time blowing somewhat weaker, predominantly from the northern direction.
Change of Weather on Thursday Evening
Weather continues to remain pretty stable until Wednesday. From Thursday evening however, the weather in Mallorca is set to deteriorate somewhat. The probability of rain will increase, although still at a low level, yet noticeably: 30 percent in Palma.
By Friday, the probability of rain throughout the island skyrockets to 60-65 percent. The weather map then only shows grey clouds and rain.
