TaPalma Competition – A Prequel to the Main Event
But wait a minute, you'll want to mark your calendars for Monday, 20th November as well. What’s happening on this day, I hear you ask? The curtain rises on the much-anticipated TaPalma 2023 Competition that serves as an enticing appetiser before the main feast. Held at the majestic Palau de Congressos de Palma, for the fourth year running, it showcases who’s-who in the island’s culinary scene.
Celebrating 18 Delicious Years of TaPalma
TaPalma 2023 isn’t just another food event; it’s a culinary extravaganza that has been delighting foodies for 18 scrumptious editions. Organised by AgenciaCom and Restauración Caeb, the event pours life into the city's restaurant industry. But TaPalma's goals extend beyond city perimeters, positioning Mallorca, and particularly its capital, as a power player in Spain’s gastronomy landscape.
TaPalma Gastronomic Route – A Delectable Journey
Did I mention that two days before the festival, on 20th November, the aforementioned competition commences? Oh, yes, I did. Sorry! I decided to drop a luscious detail here... The winner of TaPalma’s gastronomic crown will be unveiled at this competition!
Navigating through TaPalma is a breeze, with participating restaurants and bars open from 12.30 to 16.00 and 19:30 to 23:00. Whether you're a solo adventurer, trotting along with family, or partying with friends, Palma is ready to show you its culinary brilliance.

Last Year’s Champions Paving The Way for Future Culinary Royalty
In its previous edition, TaPalma crowned Chef Tito Verger from Rosa del Mar restaurant as its winner. His award-winning tapa, Pulguita de Otoño, had the judges begging for more. Other notable winners were Albert Martín from Arume Sake Bar and Jaume Comas of Cor Barra i Taula. The former won gold in the themed tapas category, featuring sobrassada from Mallorca, while the latter took home the bronze.
Concoctions that Stirred Up a Storm in 2022
In the exhilarating cocktail competition, Maygret Molina from Weyler Bonaire dazzled the judges with his cocktail "La Manzana de Ortiz", and took home the Golden Cocktail. Other mixologists that intrigued the panel were Fernando Calderón of Katagi Blau with "TaPalma - Ito" and Davide Fiore, bartender at Xalest Restaurant, with his creation "Nirvana".
A Path Paved with Tapas and Cocktails
TaPalma is more than just a fiesta; it is a journey that begins on 23rd November and culminates on 27th November. A rapturous route that's crowning glory is the chance to sample all the tapas and cocktails TaPalma had to offer in 2022. The gastronomic route, graced by 46 establishments, promises a visual and delicious spectacle unlike any other.
