Americans flock to the Island of Mallorca
In recent years, emigrating to Mallorca has become a popular decision for North Americans as they search for new homes and investment opportunities, a whopping 40,000 Americans now call Spain their home. A recent study conducted by “Moving to Spain” sheds light on the ten most attractive regions for Americans to buy a home, Mallorca being one of them.
Homebuyers and investors in Mallorca
The study focused on analysing the number of Americans residing in each Spanish province per 100,000 residents. The Balearic Islands, encompassing popular destinations like Mallorca, Menorca, and Ibiza, have been steadily gaining the attention of American homebuyers and investors. The Balearics secured a respectable fifth place in the ranking, with 1,464 North Americans currently residing on these idyllic islands. What's even more noteworthy is that interest in the Balearics is on the rise, as several real estate firms have turned their focus towards the American market.
Other popular regions around Spain
Except for the Balearic Islands, Madrid makes the top of the list, boasting a remarkable 11,570 American residents, with 171 Americans per 100,000 residents. The vibrant Spanish capital city's appeal, with its rich cultural heritage and bustling economy, has clearly struck a chord with American expatriates. Next up is Malaga, with 2,692 American residents and a density of 157 Americans per 100,000 residents. Malaga's Mediterranean climate and vibrant cultural scene make it an attractive choice for North Americans. Barcelona, renowned for its unique architecture and cosmopolitan atmosphere, takes the third position on the list, with 142 Americans per 100,000 residents.
However, the Balearic Islands, with their stunning Mediterranean landscapes, vibrant cultural scene, and warm climate, offer an attractive proposition for Americans seeking a change of scenery and lifestyle. As this trend continues to gain momentum, Mallorca are likely to see even more interest from North Americans in the years to come. For those looking to invest in a slice of Mediterranean paradise, The Island of Mallorca is undoubtedly a compelling option.
