The incident occurred at approximately 9 am when two aircraft were engaged in ground manoeuvres at the Son Sant Joan airport. The planes involved were from the Condor company, serving the Palma-Frankfurt route, and Air Europa company, which had recently flown the Barcelona-Palma route. The collision unfolded as the Air Europa plane was approaching the terminal, colliding with the rear of the stationary Condor plane, which was awaiting clearance for taxiing.
Efficient response ensures passenger safety and airport operations
The impact resulted in the wingtip of one of the aircraft breaking, prompting a swift response from airport authorities and airline personnel. Fortunately, all passengers and crew members were reported to be unharmed.
